Come meet the poster presenters to ask them questions and discuss their work

We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics, and will give delegates an opportunity to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in the academic community. We look forward to seeing you there!

PO123: Comprehensive Analysis of Power Quality Compliance Issues in an Operational Wind Farm

Dominique Alonso Sorensen, Global Service Manager, Arteche

Abstract

Wind farms play a pivotal role in regional power infrastructures, with utilities continually raising their operational standards to meet the growing energy demands [1]. Consequently, any failure to meet these requirements can prompt the TSO to order the wind farm to halt operations, resulting in significant financial losses, and hereby, harmonics have risen as a critical concern in power systems. In the energy generation phase, an operational Wind Farm (WF) exhibited unexpected harmonic non-compliance. Preliminary simulations, which predicted compliance, failed to foresee this deviation. Contrary to these forecasts, real-time generation surpassed the harmonic standards. This led to a deeper inquiry, juxtaposing the simulation approaches with actual operational data, to pinpoint the causes of these discrepancies.
