Biography

Roman Andarak since January 2022 works as Director-general for Strategic Planning and European Integration in the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. His responsibilities also include recovery, humanitarian assistance to the energy sector, sustainable development, and energy sanctions policy. Before joining the team at the Ministry of Energy Roman Andarak spent 20 years in foreign policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, including foreign postings to the Embassy of Ukraine to the USA and Mission of Ukraine to the European Union. In his capacity as the deputy head of the Mission of Ukraine to the EU he was responsible for Ukraine-EU Dialogue on the European Green Deal, energy markets integration, re-negotiation of the energy annex to the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement. He also participated in the trilateral consultations on the extension of the gas transit contract in 2019. Other areas of his professional interest included Ukraine-EU trade, economic, transport and digital cooperation.
