Biography

Sid A. Attia is the Industry Manager-Utilities & Energy EMEA at MathWorks in Munich. He works closely with account managers, customers, and utilities in conventional power, renewables, and storage. His work focuses on identifying technological trends in the power industry, helping customers unlock their potential and meet their business and technical targets. Before joining MathWorks, he worked for different companies like Nordex and numerous General Electric businesses in various capacities as a technical leader, senior engineer, and chief engineer in control systems, systems integration and architecting for different energy sectors. Prior to industry, he spent a couple of years in academia conducting research in optimization and control theory. He holds an MSc and PhD in control and automation, both from the polytechnical institute of Grenoble-France.
