Session description
Wind turbine blades are one of the key components of a wind turbine. In the last decade the rotor diameter of both offshore and onshore wind turbines have increased significantly. With ultra-long wind turbine blades also follows challenges to overcome. The session will present some of the key blade challenges and will put a spotlight on selected topics in the lifecycle of a wind turbine blade. You will get insight in eco-design and condition monitoring of wind turbine blades as well as research results on wind turbine noise and vortex induced vibrations. Blade circularity solutions for end-of-life blades with a focus on cement co-processing concludes the session.
