Biography
Valery Godinez-Azcuaga has over 30 years of experience in the field of Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE). He joined MISTRAS Group in 1999. First as a Research Engineer and later as Director of the Research, Contracts & Applications (RC&A) group, Dr. Godinez-Azcuaga has ample expertise in research, development and implementation of NDE Technologies such as Acoustic Emission, Ultrasonics, and Thermography for the Wind Energy, Traditional Electric Utilities, Oil and Gas, Food, Defense, Aerospace and Civil Infrastructure industries. Since 2017, he has served as the Vice President of Engineering and Product Development for the Products & Systems Division of MISTRAS Group. In this position he is leading efforts for the development of IoT solutions for long term monitoring of industrial assets. Valery holds Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in NDE from Ohio State University and a B.Sc. in Physics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Results of his work have been presented at national and international conferences and in scientific journals, books, and technical handbooks. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Acoustic Emission Working Group (AEWG), Vice Chair of the Research Council of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT), and Chair of the BPV Section V WGAE of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).Presentations
