The prospects for offshore wind in Poland

16:30 – 17:00

Location: WindEurope Stage B1.OG.211, 16.30-17:00

Poland’s energy system is undergoing a transition. As a result of depleted coal resources and EU climate policy goals, Poland is set to become one of the most exciting markets for renewable energy. Poland’s geographical location puts it in a great position to be at the forefront of kick-starting the offshore wind market in the Baltic Sea.

This press briefing will present the results of a new study by consultancy IBS. The study identifies a number of challenges and opportunities for the development of offshore wind in Poland.

Come and ask questions of the main players in Polish offshore wind:

  • Zbigniew Gryglas MP, Polish Parliament
  • Arkadiusz Seksciński, Acting President,  Management Board, PGE EO
  • Janusz Gajowiecki PWEA CEO
  • Robert Zajdler IBS, Associate Professor, Warsaw University of Technology
  • Pierre Tardieu, Chief Policy Officer, WindEurope
