Session description
THIS SESSION IS OPEN TO ALL REGISTERED GLOBAL WIND SUMMIT PARTICIPANTS
The world is moving from the era of fossil fuel-based energy towards an increasingly decarbonised energy supply. Wind power has come a long way: from niche to mainstream; from primarily European to truly global. And the wind industry today is breaking new ground to facilitate and accelerate the global energy transition: it is now working to support the decarbonisation of other energy-intensive sectors of the economy; it is embracing digitalisation to facilitate system integration and develop new business models; it strives to become more resilient to face the challenges of a more merchant environment; and it explores new frontiers, as new markets emerge and new technologies appear. This session will bring together policymakers and industry leaders to discuss how the wind industry can make an even greater contribution to a stronger economy, a cleaner environment, and a more sustainable energy system, while supporting communities across Europe and beyond.Session chair
