Session description
The rapid growth in new markets around the world presents numerous opportunities and risk for wind power companies. This session will consider safety lessons learned from outside Europe and other industries, with similar risk profiles.
Learning objectives
- Looking at the offshore oil and gas industry to learn how, by planning ahead, the risk associated with offshore operations in the wind industry can be reduced
- Appreciate location-specific risks encountered when entering new countries, such as Brazil and China
- Understand how inspection and monitoring can be linked towards reducing human intervention in offshore operations, learning from the experience of the oil and gas industry
