Session description
Integration of wind power into power systems has many aspects. So far, a lot of focus has been put on the technical aspects of operating grids with a large share of wind energy. In this session, we discuss the integration of wind power from a digital perspective, addressing the software aspects of integration. This includes data sets and applications necessary to develop and/or enhance, to allow a greater controllability of the power systems accommodating vast amounts of wind energy. A good part of the session discusses the cybersecurity aspects of protecting and transferring data between systems and applications.
Learning objectives
- What are the key requirements for a proper integration of wind energy systems into the power systems, from a digital perspective
- Where we are today and what should we do next to accelerate this integration
- How can we protect – from a cybersecurity point of view – and ensure a proper integration of all digital solutions in an energy ecosystem
