Biography

Jan Völpel – Project Manager Politics and Research, Next Kraftwerke - studied Environmetal Sciences and Renewable Energy Engineering in Bremen, Aveiro and Cologne. Coming from a technical background, he started building up know-how on electricity markets by developing concepts for control and revenue opportunities of PV-battery-systems in Virtual Power Plants. He joined Next Kraftwerke in 2015 where he supported the integration of flexible biogas assets into short-term trading processes. Today he works for Politics & Research department dealing with regulatory issues in Germany and Europe as well as leading pilot and research activities as a project manager.
