Biography
Falk Engelmann started his career as foreign trade merchant and was working in the field of marketing in Germany and Spain. Having served in the German army he studied in Germany and Russia and holds a Master’s Degree in European Management. He then gained first experience in political communications at Vattenfall Europe.
As a lobbyist he is serving since several years the interests of more than 1.400 VKU members, the local public utilities, primarily at EU level. In the name of electricity and gas distribution system operators he is pursuing political communication and works with European and national experts on solutions concerning questions like flexibility markets in a smart grid environment and the transformation of the energy system. As a member of different working groups, such as the "Smart Grids Task Force” (EU-COM), he is also working on the development of EU network codes, smart grids and sector coupling.
