BiographyPeter’s involvement in the wind industry dates from his Ph.D. in physics in 2002. He has participated in writing IEC 61400-12-1:2017 and IEC 61400-50-3, in IEA Wind Energy annexes such as IEA Wind Task 32 (concerned with guidance on the use of lidar), and other industry forums. He pioneered novel technical approaches such as non-linear scaling methods for estimating long term mean and extreme values, two-point statistics (transience) for evaluating turbulent fatigue loads, Response Deficit Analysis of “big data,” and assessing wind conditions using the transformational capabilities of scanning lidars. Peter is a visiting professor at Leeds Beckett University.
