Biography

Mr. Botreau holds master’s degrees in engineering and physics (Dipl.-Ing. and M.Sc.) and started to work in the renewable energy sector in 2004 as a research engineer on crystalline photovoltaic cells. From 2005 to 2012, he worked in the French overseas departments (Guadeloupe, Martinique, and French Guyana) for a developer and EPC company implementing photovoltaic projects; both stand alone and grid-connected. His project experience covers all steps of the project cycle, from site and resource assessment, construction supervision, through the O&M phase and performance evaluation. Since 2012, he works in the Renewable Energy Department of the engineering and consulting company Lahmeyer International (Tractebel group) as Project Manager, focusing in recent years on rural electrification projects in developing countries and islands, specializing on the integration of renewable energy for power generation in hybrid systems.
