Session description

15:00-15:30 - Top 25 risks in Wind
Data-driven decision making will increasingly drive training standardisation in wind. Jose Jimenez, Governance and Risk Manager at Global Wind Organisation and Lisa Mallon, Chair of the GWO Audit & Compliance Committee explain the role GWO’s Top 25 Hazards & Risks will play in moving the industry forward.

15:30-16:00 - From 400 to one. The Slinger Signaller training standard
When GWO members discussed the training their employees had for attaching and detaching loads from a crane or safe movement of the crane, they identified over 400 different certificates. Rarely have the grounds for standardisation been so obvious. The result has been the new GWO Slinger Signaller/Rigger Signal Person training standard which will give site training and operations a simpler way to recognise and validate the skills of this important skill set. Ørsted’s Senior Training Development Specialist Per Sigmann Rasmussen will present the business imperative for the standard, supported by GWO Head of Training Development, Jakob Bjørn Nielsen to detail the scope of the course.

16:00-16:15 - GWO & GWEC sign MoU
Global Wind Energy Council & Global Wind Organisation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate and align their respective resources for the benefit of members and the safety of wind energy workers worldwide. GWEC CEO Ben Backwell and GWO CEO Jakob Lau Holst will present a brief overview of the MoU, its aims and objectives.
