Senior Research Engineer, Bearing, ORE Catapult

Biography

Wooyong has 19 years’ career in bearing engineering area over different organizations such as Schaeffler, Romax Technology and Drivetrain System Internationals. He has covered various technical disciplines for bearing product design and simulation for wide range of applications during his career. He joined ORE Catapult in 2017 and currently holds the position of senior research engineer, bearings in the drivetrain knowledge area within the Research and Disruptive Innovation department. He has majorly involved in 6MW pitch and rotor bearing analysis and full-scale test project in ORE Catapult and his research is currently focused on wind turbine bearing analysis method improvement and enhanced bearing test strategy development.
