Biography

Dr Jianxin Gao is a Principal Project Leader in Integrity Management Technology Group at TWI. After obtaining his PhD in Solid Mechanics from Tsinghua University, China, he has led numerous research projects involving the development of optical NDT (non-destructive testing) techniques and computer-based image processing. Since joining TWI in 2005, he has been involved in a number of FP6, FP7 and H2020 collaborative projects, acted as the coordinator or technical manager of most of the projects. Dr Gao's work in wind energy mainly involves developing NDT techniques for wind turbine blade inspection on-site.
