Offshore Wind in the US – ‘Lessons Learned So Far from Europe’s First 11 GW of Offshore Wind’

Description:

Offshore wind energy provides the opportunity to introduce high levels of zero emissions electricity to consumers. The stronger, more constant wind resource at sea provides the ability to deliver power plant levels of output.

With 90% of installations in offshore wind occurring in Europe so far, and over 3,000 turbines in the water, lessons from the other side of the Atlantic can be shared as the first US offshore wind farms enter development and commissioning.

What lessons can be exported into the US to speed up the rollout of offshore wind? How has expertise been developed that has helped lower the cost of energy? What are the right actions to ensure success in America? Find out as WindEurope’s Senior Offshore Wind Analyst, Andrew Ho, chairs a panel of European experts from the main companies behind Europe’s offshore deployment so far to exchange views and lessons on what it takes to produce a successful project and harness wind energy at sea.

Session format: Panel discussion chaired by WindEurope Senior Offshore Wind Analyst, Andrew Ho.
