Overview
WindEurope took part in the European Commission’s public consultation on the upcoming AI and Digitalisation roadmap for energy. Our feedback highlights the need to prioritise AI deployment in grid management, renewable integration, and demand-side flexibility, while addressing cybersecurity and regulatory gaps. We advocate for the Commission to lead on energy data space governance and call for real-world testing of AI models before large-scale deployment. Financial incentives and regulatory support are essential to unlock investment in smart grids and digital innovation. We also emphasise the importance of harmonised regulations and clear guidance on AI risks and opportunities for a resilient energy transition.
