Elvire Chollet, VIMFLO Project Manager, Technip Energies

Abstract

The VIMFLO project has been launched in March 2023 in Technip Energies Headquarters in Nanterre, France. This project is funded by the French State as part of France 2030 operated by ADEME. This ambitious R&D program is led by Technip Energies, with various technology partners: D-ICE ENGINEERING, Ecole centrale de Nantes, and CEA-List. Objective of this three years project is to develop a suitable and optimized O&M vessel concept to allow easy and secured replacement of Offshore Wind Turbine Major Component. Our presentation will encompass the following key aspects: 1. Overview of Specific Challenges in Major Component Replacement for Floating Wind Turbines: We will provide an in-depth understanding of the challenges associated with major component replacement in floating wind turbines. These challenges include logistical complexities, technical intricacies, etc. 2. Overview of Potential Options for Performing Major Component Replacement: We will present various options available for executing major component replacement in floating wind turbines. This will encompass different approaches, methodologies, and technologies employed or foreseen in the industry. 3. Development of T.EN Proposed Concept and objectives of VIMFLO project We will delve into the T.EN proposed concept, and highlight the significance of the VIMFLO project in advancing this technology. The VIMFLO project plays a crucial role in increasing the technology readiness level of the concept through rigorous engineering and testing activities.
