PO260: Prescriptive maintenance and a new system of wear monitoring

Abstract

Condition monitoring is an essential and often-used tool in operations and maintenance. It not only ensures a cost-efficient operation, but it is also necessary to transform the often-used reactive maintenance to a truly prescriptive maintenance. In this work, we focus on condition monitoring of the drive train in wind turbines and present a new sensor system using wear particle characterization that enables specific risk assessment.
