PO227: 24 kV SF6 FREE TECHNOLOGY FOR WIND ENERGY PROJECTS

Abstract

Under the perspective of a new regulation on fluorinated greenhouse gases in the European Union, a relevant technological change regarding the current use of SF6 for switchgears needs to be performed in the following years. The purpose of this abstract is to present a breakthrough 24 kV SF6-free technology for wind power generation. The focus behind this technical evolution is to attend future industry needs, minimize technical and operation uncertainties and provide reliable and robust solutions. The challenge for SF6 alternatives in 24kV wind energy projects is to maintain the same safety and reliability as well as proven SF6 existing products.
