We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics, and will give delegates an opportunity to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in the academic community. We look forward to seeing you there!
PO192: A novel numerical hub-lidar for wind flow estimation
Esperanza Soto Sagredo, PhD Student, DTU
Abstract
This abstract introduces a novel numerical hub-mounted lidar sensor developed within the CONTINUE project and implemented in HAWC2. The sensor is designed as a single-beam pulsed lidar, with the capability to simulate multi-beam lidar configurations by selecting multiple beams. This sensor will be publicly accessible upon the release of HAWC2 v13.1. The practicality of this sensor is demonstrated through wind flow estimation using a Mann turbulence box as the wind input, with a wind speed of U = 11.4 [m/s]. Three different lidar configurations are analyzed to compare their results. The initial findings highlight the effectiveness of hub-mounted lidar in capturing the longitudinal wind speed coming towards the turbine. This pulsed hub-lidar technology holds significant promise for wind flow estimation applications, particularly for Lidar-assisted control (LAC).
