We would like to invite you to come and see the posters at our upcoming conference. The posters will showcase a diverse range of research topics, and will give delegates an opportunity to engage with the authors and learn more about their work. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or simply curious about the latest developments in your field, we believe that the posters will offer something of interest to everyone. So please join us at the conference and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and engage with your peers in the academic community. We look forward to seeing you there!
PO176: Research on Effect of Wake Loss Model in the Calculation of the Wind Turbine Array Power Density for Wind Potential Analysis
Keonhoon Kim, Principal Researcher, KIER
Abstract
As the national policy for the reduction of CO2 gas emission and the dissemination of renewable energy resources facilities, the disseminated capacity of wind turbine is steadily expanding in Korea. But, for the more realized national dissemination planning, the more scientific basis on the domestic wind potential and actual installation capability must be settled, thus the key parameters on wind energy potential is constantly suggested through previous several research. In general, the value of APD 5MW/km2 was applied in Korea and several foreign research results on 3∼5MW/km2 of APD were revealed extensively. When considering a lot of effective factors on the accurate APD of wind turbines are existing, the more detail and scientific basis for the determination of APD is strictly needed. That is the purpose of this research study and it's the first time to analysis the scientific basis of APD by the representative wind turbines with several technical specifications under wind speed, wind direction and IEC class conditions in my country. This study is achieved to scientifically analyze the effect on the APD by the performance characteristics of wind turbines and wake models, which is also the most important component for the assessment of wind energy potential and to suggest the accurate technical basis for determination of the APD with scientific basis.
