PO028: An Innovative Cloud System for Wind Energy Applications: Cloud Computing, Workflow Designand Containerization

Hasan Yazicioglu, R&D Wind Project Manager, 3E

Abstract

As the wind energy industry expands dramatically, it generates vast amount of data demanding robust computational solutions. This paper unveils a cutting edge process management system, harnessing cloud computing, streamlined workflow design, and containerization technologies. Key features include scalable processes, adaptable to varying workloads using cloud-native infrastructure like argo-workflows and kubernetes. It employs logical workflow designs, transforming algorithmic tasks into manageable sequences and promoting task interdependencies' comprehension. Recognizing the cyclic nature of wind energy tasks, the system facilitates automated, timely workflow executions, enhancing reliability. Through an intuitive interface, real-time monitoring is made effortless, promptly identifying system irregularities. The core of this work spotlights an advanced cloud system crafted for wind farm data and analytics, demonstrating various complex analytical applications that demands intricate orchestration. In essence, this paper emphasizes the coupling of modern technologies to furnish agile solutions for the wind energy sector.
