PO021: Ørsted data model for GIS data management of Offshore Wind farms

Abstract
As the offshore wind industry expands, the need for efficient data management grows with it. This session will explore the challenges and opportunities of developing standardised GIS data models specifically tailored to offshore wind projects. We will discuss the integration of geospatial information to enhance decision-making, optimise project planning, and ensure sustainable development. Through collaborative efforts and examples, this presentation aims to offer insights into fostering accurate, reliable, and interoperable data models, thereby empowering the Ørsted organisation to thrive in a renewable energy future. Ørsted is in the process of rolling out a standard data model framework for GIS data management and exchange with contractors during the development and construction life cycles of an offshore wind farm project. With a growing global footprint the need for a standardized data model becomes crucial to ensure successful data exchanges between our stakeholders.
