Biography

Clara is a Director at National Grid Ventures, responsible for European Offshore Development, leading the next wave of offshore grid development activities in the North Seas, from establishing a strong set of viable projects to shaping NGV’s EU strategy. Clara joined National Grid in 2016 and has held a variety of strategy and business roles in NG before taking her position as Director of European Offshore Development, such as Commercial Director at BritNed, our 260km submarine cable connecting the UK to the Netherlands. Prior to this, Clara was influential in defining NG group’s long-term strategic vision and its portfolio strategy, oversaw the development of capital projects in Britain’s electricity transmission network and led European policy and engagement for the electricity system operator. Before joining National Grid, Clara spent several years at the Boston Consulting Group, working in the energy sector in Europe across gas and electricity. Clara has also held various volunteering roles within the Red Cross and International Civil Service and is a proud member of WiNG, empowering women’s development and success at National Grid.
