Biography

Dave is the Head of Policy & Research at Wind Energy Ireland. As a member of WEI’s senior leadership team, Dave leads the Policy & Research department in driving policy development, evidence-based analysis, and research activity across all aspects of the onshore and offshore renewable industry in Ireland. He is a board member of Energy Cloud Ireland and chairs the Energy, Environment and Climate Action division at Engineers Ireland. Dave has been with Wind Energy Ireland since 2021 and previously established a new research function and several partner collaborations on skills, education, and funded research. Dave worked with EirGrid for 8 years, with experience across multiple areas of the business, including grid delivery, network planning, operational planning, and energy markets. Dave graduated from University College Cork with a first-class honours degree in Energy Engineering, and has completed post graduate qualifications in engineering, project and programme management and Six Sigma. He is a chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland and Project Management Professional with the PMI.
