Biography
Ángel Hernández del Teso has extensive experience in private infrastructure investment and strategic consulting, particularly in renewable energy. He is well-acquainted with the acquired assets, coming from SGRE, where he has been the Director of Promotion and Sales of Parks for Southern Europe, Africa, and Latin America for over four years.
Within SSE Renewables, his mission involves the development, construction, and operation of projects in various countries. Hernández del Teso leads a team of around 50 professionals who were previously dedicated to portfolio development within SGRE — half of whom were located in Zamudio (Bizkaia/Vizcaya). SSE Renewables has fully incorporated this team into its staff as part of its commitment to local talent and expertise. The company has established its headquarters in the Basque Country, specifically in Bilbao, where the majority of professionals will continue to be based in the future.
Ángel Hernández del Teso has built his professional career in private infrastructure investments, overseeing projects in Europe, the Americas, and Africa. His responsibilities have included feasibility analysis, project evaluation, financing, and concession implementation. With nearly 11 years of experience at Siemens Gamesa, he also served as the Director of Promotion and Sales of Parks at the former Gamesa Energía. Prior to that, he held the position of Director of Investments at N+1 Eolia (N+1 Group) and worked as a strategic consultant at McKinsey & Company. Earlier in his career, he held various positions in infrastructure investment at Grupo Ferrovial (Cintra) and Grupo OHL (Ohl Concesiones).
Holder of a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Ángel Hernández del Teso holds an MBA from INSEAD and is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) by the CFA Institute. Additionally, he has received several academic awards, including an Excellence Scholarship from the Rafael del Pino Foundation.
