Biography

CEO Knut Vassbotn founded Deep Wind Offshore in 2021, together with the owners Knutsen Group, Haugaland Kraft and SKL. Deep Wind Offshore has over the last few years grown significantly and now have 50 employees across the globe. In 2023, Octopus Energy became a shareholder to accelerate further growth. Deep Wind Offshore so far has offshore projects under development in Norway, Sweden, and South Korea – where the Company has 2 GW under exclusive development. Deep Wind Offshore has joint ventures with EDF Renewables for Norway and with bp for South Korea. Vassbotn has over 20 years of experience from the energy sector and has developed offshore wind projects across the globe for the last decade. Vassbotn holds a BSc in Naval Architecture from University of Newcastle.
