Biography

Holding a PhD in Corporate Communication from UCM (Complutense University of Madrid), a Master's degree in International Marketing from ESIC (Business & Marketing University) and a graduate degree in journalism from the UFV (Francisco de Vitoria University), Rafael is an expert in corporate communication, public affairs and stakeholder management with over twenty years' professional experience in these areas, with a special focus on renewable energy matters. In addition to collaborating with various institutions such as UFV, UPC (Polytechnic University of Catalonia) and EIT Innoenergy in a teaching capacity, Rafael has held various positions throughout his professional career in sectors such as consumer goods (AVON Cosmetics) and the media (head of communication and marketing at 8madrid TV). At present he is responsible for Public Affairs and Community Relations at EDP Renewables (Euronext: EDPR) for Europe and Latin America. EDPR is the world’s fourth largest producer of wind power and a global leader in the area of renewable energies, specializing on the acceleration of the energy transition.
