Biography

Borgen holds a MSc from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Electrical Engineering with the final master thesis written at Technische Universitӓt Darmstadt in Germany. Borgen has more than 25 years of experience in energy business in a range of fields from both Grid operations, Grid development, Engineering, Licensing, Technology, R&D and Construction works in large projects onshore and offshore. Borgen has 19 years' experience from the executive committee in Statnett SF and other management positions in Statnett SF and BKK. As Executive Vice President (EVP) in Statnett his positions have ranged from Head of System operations (SO), Head of Projects, Head of Technology and development. Project owner for development and construction of four cable interconnectors from Norway to neighbouring countries; NorNed to the Netherlands (2008), Skagerrak 4 to Denmark (2014), NordLink to Germany (2021) and North Sea Link to UK (2021). Borgen was chair of the Research & Development and Innovation (RDIC) committee in ENTSOE the European Transmission System operator organisation (2019-2023).
