Biography

Dr Hadjisavvas, with over two decades of experience in defence and policy formulation, specialises in sustainable energy and the protection of defence-related critical energy infrastructure at the European Defence Agency. He leads key EU-funded projects, including the Energy Defence Consultation Forum—Europe's largest defence energy community—and the Symbiosis project, which promotes co-existence between defence and renewable energy. Previously, he served in notable organisations, including the Cyprus Ministries of Defence and Foreign Affairs, the Cyprus Permanent Representation to the EU, and the African Union Mission in Sudan. A Hellenic Army Academy graduate, Dr Hadjisavvas holds a PhD in Political Science and a Master's in International Conflict Analysis. His recent co-authored works on hybrid threats to critical energy infrastructure and the impacts of climate change demonstrate his expertise in defence resilience.
