Biography

As Vice President of Engineering and Product Development for the Products & Systems Division of MISTRAS Group Inc., Valery Godinez-Azcuaga is leading efforts for the development of state-of-the-art asset monitoring solutions through the implementation of NDE4.0 across a variety of markets. He brings into these efforts more than 25 years of experience in the field of Nondestructive Evaluation using Acoustic Emission and Ultrasonics plus ample experience in the development and commercialization of NDE instrumentation. Valery holds Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in NDE from The Ohio State University and a B.Sc. in Physics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. His work has been presented at national and international conferences, in scientific Journals, books and technical handbooks. He serves currently as the Chair of the Acoustic Emission Working Group, Vice-Chair of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing Research Council, and Chair of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers BPV Section V WGAE.
