Biography

Mr. Egil Birkemoe has been working in the maritime and offshore market for more than 25 years with dynamic cables, floating structures and power transmission. The last 7 years also within offshore wind. He is currently a Vice President at Aker Solutions focusing on electrical transmission systems. He studied engineering cybernetics at the Norwegian University of Technology and Science. After studies he has spend 4 years in the deep water seismic business with PGS, 5 years in the maritime propulsion business in ABB, 8 years in the O&G business in ABB including subsea systems, 12 years in Aker Solutions with strategy, concept development and technology development for offshore power systems for subsea consumers, electrification of O&G assets and offshore wind and other renewable systems. He has received awards in the fields of operational excellence and subsea power systems.
