Biography

Torben Larsen has been in the wind industry for 22 years and is currently the Chief Operations Officer of Scanel Green Energy, a division of Scanel International based in Denmark. Prior to joining Scanel earlier this year, Torben was SVP and Global Head of Engineering at Corio Generation. Before joining Corio Generation, he was SVP and Chief Technology Officer at MHI Vestas Offshore Wind from 2013-2022. Torben began in the wind sector with Vestas Wind Systems in 2001, holding a variety of roles, including VP and Chief Platform Manager for the 2 MW platform. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a graduate of the INSEAD Executive Board Programme. Torben was a member of the WindEurope ETIP Advisory Board from 2014-2021, was a board member at Megavind within Wind Denmark, and has sat on the boards of OffshoreDK, an energy innovation cluster, and Lindoe Offshore Research Center.
