Biography

Dr Chris Slinger specialises in technical development of the ZephIR laser anemometer system in turbine-mounted applications. He joined Zephir Lidar in June 2011 as a research scientist. Prior to his current role, he was a Senior Fellow and a Technical Director for the Photonics Centre and Applied Technology Research Divisions at QinetiQ Malvern. In 2002 he was co-recipient of Institute of Physics Paterson Medal and Prize, for contributions to the utilization and application of physics and its commercial exploitation. He was elected as an Institute of Physics Fellow in 2003. He obtained his graduate and postgraduate degrees from Oxford University. He enjoys riding his bicycles (but falls off quite often) and traditional cider making. He is not sure if the two are connected.
