Biography

Javier Sarmiento is a Senior Engineer at IHCantabria (Offshore Engineering and Ocean Energy Group). Javier is Civil Engineering from the Universidad of Cantabria. He has been part of the IHCantabria team since 2012. During this time, he has been working on national and international projects related to Offshore Wind and Marine Energies. During the last years, his research has been mainly focused on the analysis of the free scour assessment and the design of rock scour protection for Offshore Wind Foundations. Furthermore, he has also a great experience on physical experiments related to floating devices for wind and wave energy converters.
