Research Scientist, Chair for Wind Power Drives

Biography

Timm Jakobs is a research scientist at the Chair for Wind Power Drives (CWD) in Aachen, Germany. He studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University and joint the CWD September 2019. His main field of research are segmented plain bearing which should be used as main bearings in wind turbines. Beside the theoretical work with simulations and design methods for these plain bearings, Timm has expertise in testing prototypes. Since beginning of 2023 he is also the group lead of the design department of the CWD.
