Maxime Duchet

Research Engineer on Floating Offshore Wind Turbines, EDF R&D

Biography

Mr. Maxime Duchet has been working in the floating offshore wind industry for 6 years. He is currently a research engineer at Electricité de France (EDF), in the National Laboratory for Hydraulics, Hydrodynamics and Environment (LNHE) in Paris. He studied oceanography and offshore energy engineering at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées (ENSTA Paris) within Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris), and climate and environmental sciences at Ecole Polytechnique and Sorbonne University in Paris. After his studies, he joined EDF in Paris then in London where he led the research & development activities on construction and installation of offshore wind turbines, and coordinated a project of trials at sea of autonomous underwater drones for inspecting offshore wind foundations. His research is focused on hydrodynamic modelling, both numerical and experimental, for floating offshore wind turbines design, installation and maintenance.
