Biography

Mrs. Sierra Castañon has been working in the offshore wind industry for 10 years. She is currently a Lead consultant at PEAK Wind in Denmark. Through her work in Van Oord, she gained hands on experience on procurement, engineering, and installation of Offshore wind farm Power Cables since 2014. She continued to work for Parkwind and Ørsted in various roles across all phases of the projects focusing on the Array and Export Cables. She spent almost 7 years in Ørsted as Cable Lead Specialist in Asset Integrity Management providing technical expertise on the maintenance scope including handling various cable failures of 25 different offshore windfarms in Operations. The objective of her abstract is to share experiences and create awareness of the importance of being "Prepared to Repair" from a holistic and practical point of view beyond only having framework agreements to repair and to store spare parts for cable failures.
