Biography

Mr. Hongbiao Song has been working in the offshore wind industry for more than 5 years and electrical power industry for more than 17 years. He is currently a global technical leader for offshore wind at GE Grid Solutions. He got his Ph.D in Electrical Power Engineering at Texas A&M University in 2006. After his studies he spent more than 7 years at Bechtel as Sr. Electrical Engineer leading electrical system design and execution in various large global Oil & Gas projects. After he joined GE in Jan 2014, he led lots of power generation, O&G, utility, offshore wind projects around the globe. He led several innovative solutions in GE, such as trailer mounted HV substation, containerized HV substation, floating offshore substation. He held one US patent. He is an IEEE Sr. Member, CIGRE Member and Professional Engineer.
