Session description
Spain approved in DEC 21 a clear roadmap for Offshore Wind mainly focused on Floating solutions (FOW) with the goal to reach 3 GW in 2030. With more than 7.000 Km coastline, marine areas with steady and high wind resources, a consolidated and strong supply chain (WTG OEMs, naval industry, ports infrastructures, etc) and a leading position worldwide in R&D FOW prototypes, Spain has a huge potential to become an Industrial FOW HUB. Next steps are also clear and will be discussed in this session: maritime spatial planning approval in 2Q 2022, permitting regulation updating process to be developed in 2022, the design of the new auctions and the announce of the first one in 4Q 2022 – 1Q 2023.
