Biography

José Luis Jimeno Gutiérrez is Group Senior Vice President and President of Vestas Mediterranean A/S, one of the largest sales business units within Vestas, the world leader in wind technology. He is responsible for the development of Vestas' activities in the Mediterranean countries, Middle East Pakistan and Africa. Vestas Mediterranean is one of the seven Sales Business Units of the Vestas Group. Vestas Mediterranean has established sales offices and local service organizations in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Senegal, Morocco or United Arab Emirates aiming at continuously providing our customers with the best service possible. As of January 2022, Vestas total capacity installed in the region totals over 24 GW. This impressive track record proves Vestas extensive knowledge and experience in different markets and site conditions. José Luis has an academic background as industrial engineer, and Master of Science. Nuclear Engineering. He has carried out various postgraduate studies, always related to the world of electricity generation in its different fields. He has spent his entire career in the energy industry, joining Vestas in 2008 as Director of Operation and Maintenance for Spain and Portugal. Subsequently, he has served as Senior Vice President of Global Service Commercial. He is currently president of Vestas Mediterranean. After more than 10 years in Vestas, Mr José Luis Jimeno has a solid experience and knowhow about wind solutions and a great understanding of customers’ needs and markets in the Mediterranean region.
