Biography

As CEO of BlueFloat Energy, Carlos is responsible for defining the company’s strategy, ensuring its timely execution and managing relationships with the key strategic partners. Carlos has worked in the energy sector for more than 15 years. As Project Director at EDP Renewables (EDPR) based in Madrid, he was responsible for overseeing the development of the WindFloat Atlantic project between 2013 and 2017. Before joining EDPR, Carlos worked for eight years at McKinsey & Company in the energy practice leading projects in a variety of areas including growth strategy, procurement, operational excellence, M&A, IPO, and others. Prior to founding BlueFloat Energy, he was General Manager, Europe and Asia at Prosegur. Carlos is an Adjunct Professor of Strategy at IE Business School in Madrid. He holds an MBA from Insead and a MSc. in Civil Engineering from ENPC (Paris) and UPM (Madrid).
