Recharge signed up for Official Show Dailies at Global Wind Summit

In partnership with event co-organisers Hamburg Messe and WindEurope, Recharge will also host its annual invitation-only Thought Leaders Summit in Hamburg for the first time

Recharge, the global renewable energy news and intelligence platform, has been chosen as official title and publisher of the Show Dailies at the Global Wind Summit in Hamburg (25-28 September), which will this year combine the world-leading wind industry expo WindEnergy Hamburg, organised by Hamburg Messe, and WindEurope’s global on & offshore wind conference.

The Show Dailies, which Recharge has produced since 2014, will be distributed at WindEnergy Hamburg, which attracts some 35,000 visitors and 1,400 exhibitors from more than 100 countries in nine exhibition halls, and at WindEurope’s conference, which features more than 500 speakers and presentations, providing a high-level programme on the issues facing the global wind industry.

As part of the partnership with WindEurope and Hamburg Messe for the Global Wind Summit, Recharge will host its annual invitation-only Thought Leaders Summit in Hamburg on 24 September. This will be the first time since 2013 that this event takes place beyond its ordinary location of Holmenkollen, outside Oslo.

Recharge Editor-in-Chief Darius Snieckus said: “We are very pleased to further develop our relationship with WindEurope and Hamburg Messe as the official publication and producer of the Show Dailies at the Global Wind Summit – and also to be taking the partnership to the next level by hosting the Recharge Thought Leader Summit on the eve of the event in Hamburg.

Recharge will cover the Global Wind Summit from the exhibition halls as well as from the conference rooms, filing real-time on to www.rechargenews.com, publishing Dailies for distribution to all exhibitors, visitors, speakers and delegates, and distributing a special all-wind edition of the award-winning Recharge magazine.

“The expo and the conference complement one another to provide a combination unmatched anywhere in the world. That is why the Global Wind Summit is set to be a unique gathering for the wind industry,” says Bernd Aufderheide, President and CEO Hamburg Messe und Congress.

Giles Dickson, CEO of WindEurope, states: “Hamburg brings together all of the main decision-makers from both business and government giving vital input for the continued progress of the wind energy worldwide.”

Globally, almost 53 GW of wind power was added to the grid last year, bringing the world’s cumulative capacity to almost 540 GW.
