Biography

Charles Yates has been working on Off Shore Wind (OSW) projects for 8 years. He is currently Managing Director at CmY Consultants Limited which is based in London and advises on the financing and regulation of renewable projects. He has a Masters degree in Economics from Oxford University. After his studies, he worked thirteen years for Nomura Investment Bank and was a member of the Principal Finance Group, which acquired businesses with a total value of $21 billion. At accountants Grant Thornton, he led a team of regulation and renewable specialists who advised on OSW projects including the €2bn London Array offshore windfarm (the world’s largest when it started operations). He has led teams on renewable energy projects and regulation in the UK, India and Taiwan.
