Biography
Mr. Tarik Hamane is Executive Director - Advisor to the Chairman of MASEN (Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy), in charge of the development of projects relating to the extended missions of MASEN (Wind, Hydro, Waste to Energy, Desalination ...), including the transfer of renewable projects and assets (Hydro, Wind and Solar) from ONEE “Office National of Electricity and Potable Water” to MASEN and their deployment. Before joining MASEN, Tarik HAMANE was the Executive Director of Power Generation Projects and Programs of the ONEE (the Moroccan Electricity and Drinking Water Utility). Tarik Hamane has more than 16 years of managerial experience in leading the development of large scale power generation projects in Morocco, including IPPs, PPP and EPC projects and for different fuels and technologies (Thermal Power Plants “Clean Coal and Gas”) and (Renewables “Wind, Hydro and Solar”). Tarik has also been in charge of securing the ancillary power infrastructure (Port and Storage) as well as successfully managing land acquisition processes. Key projects include landmark ventures that served as a guiding platforms for a wider implementation of energy projects in Morocco that have been managed by Tarik: The 850MW Integrated Wind Project, Repowering of ONEE’s Hydro plants, Safi Clean Coal Fired Power Plant 1400MW, Tarfaya wind farm 301MW, Taza wind farm 150MW, Jorf Lasfar Clean Coal Fired Power Plant (Units 5&6) 700MW, Extension of Jorf Lasfar Port … Before, Tarik was Head of ONEE Gas Turbine Division, in charge of the maintenance of ONEEs Gas Turbine fleet’s (1320 MW). He has established ONEE’s first Long Term Maintenance Contracts with GE for Mohammedia and Kenitra plants (6x100MW Frame 9) and managed the Retrofitting of ONEE’s Gas Turbine fleet (GE Frame 6 and Frame 5 units). Before joining ONEE, Tarik was head of the Electricity, Water and Waste Water Dispatching Systems at LYDEC Casablanca (ENGIE Group), and has served as a R&D Engineer at CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) and at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva. Mr. HAMANE is an engineer and has an MBA from Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées Paris, France, a Specialized Master’s degree in Industrial IT Systems from Ecole Centrale and INSA Lyon, France, and a Master’s degree (engineer diploma) in Electrical Engineering and Automation from Ecole Centrale-Supelec Paris, France.Presenter
