Biography

Joël Meggelaars is Head of Advocacy & Messaging at WindEurope. In this capacity, he coordinates WindEurope’s lobbying and press activities in Brussels and EU Member States. Engaging with EU institutions on relevant legislation and ensuring countries put ambitious commitments on wind energy in their 2030 energy plans are the top priorities for his team in 2018. Mr. Meggelaars previously represented the European wind industry at international fora and UN climate talks. Before joining WindEurope, he worked from 2010 to 2014 in the European Parliament as a Policy Advisor on Industry, Research and Energy. Mr. Meggelaars, a Dutch national, holds a Master’s degree in International & European Law.
