Biography

Barbara Frei, born in 1970 in Maennedorf, Switzerland, is CEO of Schneider Electric GmbH since 2016. She is responsible for business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, clustered as DACH zone. She completed her studies in mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich, followed by a doctorate in 1998. In addition, she holds an MBA degree of IMD Lausanne, Switzerland. Barbara Frei started her career in 1990 as a development project manager of motors and drives at ABB Schweiz AG. Until 2016, she held various senior management positions within the ABB Group, including regional responsibility as Country Manager Czech Republic and from 2010 onward as Regional Manager Mediterranean in Italy.
