Biography

Oliver Weinmann is Managing Director of Vattenfall Europe Innovation GmbH. As a subsidiary of Vattenfall GmbH and part of the Vattenfall Business Area Wind the enterprise focuses on business development and steering of activities in the field of product and technology development, mainly related to renewable energies. He studied Process Engineering at the RWTH Aachen, followed by a PhD on Solar Thermal Power Plants at DLR in Cologne. In 1992 he started his career at HEW in Hamburg and changed to Vattenfall in 2003 as Head of Innovation Management. In parallel, between 2004 and 2007, he was Managing Director of Vattenfall Europe Renewables GmbH and built up of the renewable energy business in the Vattenfall Europe Group. In 2010 he was appointed as Managing Director of Vattenfall Europe Innovation GmbH.
